It is now possible to localize the text in most menus and dialogs to other languages. All that is needed is to drop a a file named "Menus", that contains the text of the localized menu items, into PageSpinner's "Settings" folder.
- The advantage of this plug-in method of localizing menus is that it is easy to update the application and still keep the localized menus. Also, the AppleGuide will highlight the correct menu to use.
- The disadvantage with this method is that is not possible to translate the menu titles, plug-in extensions or the pop-up menus in HTML Assistant and other dialogs.
There are Japanese and Swedish versions of the plug-in files included.
To install localized menu/dialogs you will simply need to drop the file "Menus" into the PageSpinner folder named "Settings" and restart PageSpinner. To use the original menus again, just rename the file Menus to something else, or remove it from the "Settings" folder.
You will find the latest versions of the localized menus at the PageSpinner Web site, the version number of an installed menu is displayed in the About PageSpinner... menu item in the Apple menu.
